Always only half the face, the idea that these girls have been fading away. We see them everywhere, but don't truly see them. They are all around us, these lost girls. Lost in their struggle against inner and outer demons of this world. I'm not expressing myself very well with words today. That's where art and music take over.
I drew the first one while thinking of the Afghan refugees on the run for their very lives right now. She is resolute despite the teardrop falling. I just sort of continued the project with more girls, creating stories for them in my head as I drew. I don't know how to share those stories because they weren't concrete, rather they were ephemeral in nature.
So here are my lost girls.
